Asia June 1997 - January 11, 2011
Asia was a beloved family dog, a favorite of Kathryn & Matthew, but also loved by Christopher and Melissa. She was loving and loyal, and could always be found stealing Matthew's socks or sleeping in his "Dirty Laundry" which earned her the nick name of "STINKY" courtesy of Kate. After Matthew left home she became Katie's companion, sleeping in her room or at her feet while she was on the computer or watching TV. As the years passed, and Katie moved out we got Riley to keep her company. Asia was a tough sell, but she let Riley know right away that she was in charge!
By the time that January 2005 came Asia was having problems with her vision, and her teeth. That did not however prevent her from chewing up many sherpa toys.... all referred to as "her piggy's". It didn't matter what shape or color they were, the texture was enough for her, and they were ALL hers. Asia loved eating everyone else's food when they didn't finish their dinner, which of course earned her another nickname as her waist became wider and wider.... "Piggy". As her vision failed, Riley stepped up to help guide her around the yard, and remained her loyal companion, always by her side.
For the past 2 years our Granddaughter's and Grandson have spent countless hours trying to convince her that they were OK, but she had difficulty with the little kids. They moved to fast, and made to much noise!! It did not keep them from trying to win her over, if only Poor Asia would have realized she was the perfect size for them to love, her last years could have included endless hours of hugs, snuggling & endless treats, ten times over what she already got from the adults.

Smokey June 1995 - October 21, 2008
Smokey was a Surprise Birthday gift for me from my husband. He was a beautiful Silver Tabby Persian and a very unique cat right from the beginning. He would always be waiting for me to come from work home, and followed me around just like a dog. Smokey was a charming sweet boy that loved everyone and did not discriminate who he got attention or treats from. He was my constant companion, and his presence is missed every day. Smokey was the foundation for my Persian breeding program, and many past clients have enjoyed his fabulous personality in his offspring.
When we had company he would jump up on the table or counter to wait and greet any visitors. As he got older and the kids were in school, he could be seen waiting in the windows on the sofa table or the back of the couch for them to come home. As soon as he saw them walking up the sidewalk he would jump down and run to the door to greet them. He would give you kisses on your fingers and then try to use your fingers to rub and wash his face. Smokey's favorite food was always Blueberry muffins, he would try to reach out and grab your hand if he smelled the muffins, and expected that you were going to share with him.
As Smokey got older, Brielle arrived on his scene, and he would sit by close at hand and wait for her to pet him (or grab his fur) as Brie got older I taught her how to hold her hand out to give him his treats. Smokey learned quickly that if he let her pet him, she would open the cabinet and take out his treats. In his last months with us I believe that he consumed more treats when Brielle was here than he did his food.
